How to Live Together

Pictures and text installation displayed on all 32 rear track surfaces of the U2 underground station built by Alfred Grenander in 1913, at Berlin Alexanderplatz

for months in a row, alternating from time to time with advertising, 2016–2018

On one side, 16 enamel panels with black-and-white photographs of old photographic double portraits, found in a cemetery somewhere in the south. And on the other side, 16 enamel panels with individual letters, black on white, which when read together spell out the name and the subject matter of the installation: W I E Z U S A M M E N L E B E N (How to live together).

Wie Zusammen Leben (How to Live Together) and Berlin Alexanderplatz form a pair of temporary object and film installations for two central underground stations in Berlin that have significant historical importance to the city.
