fragments (of Petersbourg)

analogue projection (medium-format slides) with performative accompaniment

first presented: 2010, Bauhofstr. and Am Kupfergraben, Berlin-Mitte

Out of a corpus of 324 photographic pictures (this named Petersbourg), one and only one of them is projected per day. These pictures are photographs of old portrait photographs found in a cemetery somewhere in the south. The projection begins in broad daylight and cannot be seen until the image gradually appears whilst dusk sets in. A single (!) image and the ever-changing context thus are what makes this film a film.
