Wedding Film

Clara Taborda and Peter Baer have been working under this name since 1997.

Theatre and dance, installations of photographs, films, projections, objects, predominantly as autonomous productions and predominantly in the public space (sidewalks, squares, parks, firewalls, façades), in empty stores (from within to without), mostly accompanied by a performance.

All projects are long-term projects and carry a serial, unsettled character – they vary and change according to the given context – work in progress / work in process.

Wedding Film works unyieldingly in an analogous manner. Any given work is there when, where and as it happens – ortsgebunden. Otherwise they potentially exist as documentation, tale, score and simulation, as a product of the imagination, just waiting for to happen again.

The work of Wedding Film consists in the making of simple things, it is connected to the place where it takes place, is weak towards the world surrounding it, can therefore be drowned out, overseen; it is always an artificial event that must assert itself close to, east of the uneventful.

Wedding Film is committed to the surface, the very small difference, the Langenweile, the lack of development and a moderate iconoclasm.

Before Wedding Film:

Clara Taborda was trained in contemporary dance (Rio de Janeiro/SĂŁo Paulo/Berlin), worked as a dancer over many years in great a variety of off-scene-productions as well as in own choreographies/performances. Graphic works.

Peter Baer studied mechanical engineering, philosophy and theory of drama. Begin with punk music and street-theatre. Numerous works in polyphonic speech-music, installation and performance.
